Responsibility
At PHT Investment Group we evaluate environmental, social, and governance factors as part of our investment research process to help us effectively assess the long-term sustainability and durability of our Investments.
our
Approach to ESG
We believe that integrating ESG factors into our investment process helps us to better manage risk and enhance returns. We place in-depth, fundamental analysis at the core of our investments, and embed ESG analysis within each of our equity strategies.
The PHT Investment Team incorporates key ESG criteria into our investment analysis and decision-making process using a tailored approach suited to our specific strategy, while remaining consistent with our overall investment philosophy and process. We commit ourselves to the careful study of factors that could cause impairment of capital, understanding that the presence of unmitigated ESG risks may lead us to pass on the investment.
our
Impact
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I)
PHT is committed to helping build a better, fairer society, starting with our own organization. We believe that a strong culture, in which inclusion and belonging are paramount, creates room for all of us to drive our purpose of helping more and more people experience financial well-being.
We engage our portfolio companies on DE&I initiatives through priority setting with management teams and providing them with access to human capital management resources. We take a systematic and data-driven approach to managing talent because we recognize that doing so leads to enhanced performance and reduces risk.
our
Path to Net Zero
How can we meet the goal of Net Zero?
“Net zero emissions” refers to achieving an overall balance between greenhouse gas emissions produced and greenhouse gas emissions taken out of the atmosphere.
Getting to net zero means we can still produce some emissions, as long as they are offset by processes that reduce greenhouse gases already in the atmosphere. To meet the goal of net zero, new emissions of greenhouse gases must be as low as possible.
The good news is that the technology exists to reach net zero – and it is affordable.
PHT’s Path Forward
A key element is powering our cold storage facilities with clean energy, replacing polluting coal, as well as gas and oil-fired power stations with renewable energy sources, such as wind or solar farms. This would dramatically reduce carbon emissions. Plus, renewable energy is now not only cleaner, but often cheaper than fossil fuels.
PHT is embracing these alternative and renewable energy sources – utilizing solar, cogeneration, microgrids and battery technology for our fresh produce Cold Storage facilities.
